Check. Driving you crazy, uh?

Imagine repeating this 100 times. No, make it 1000.

For SingTel’s latest manifesto, no efforts were spared. Together with creative agency
BBDO Singapore, a charming little stop-motion video was created to illustrate its mantra,
‘Amazing things happen when we dream big’.

And our team get to experience firsthand the painstaking process of shooting a stop-motion video,
which you can see above.

Well, as they say, no pain no gain. Was the pain worth it? You bet.

A Fresh Look for EYA…
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award is a mark of excellence and achievement in the small and medium business sector in Singapore. It is an annual award that Reel Loco has been a part of for going on eight years now. It is a partnership that we look forward to every year. Despite the extremely corporate and suit wearing overtones that the award carries; we were excited to see that this year they have decided to freshen up the theme for the awards. The tagline, 360 Degree Entrepreneur, was created to encapsulate everything that it takes to be a successful and ultimately, an award winning business owner. Represented by a colourful pinwheel that breaks apart and reforms into a growing tree, we feature the 4 main ingredients required to become a 360 Degree Entrepreneur. A complex explanation for a rather simple and clean execution. We really like our little TVC and were proud to help EYA move forward in this year’s cool look.

Who knew printers could be cool?
Thanks to Canon’s Balanced Deployment, printing your office docs just became a lot less stressful. For a new sales video, we pitched to Canon a different approach to sell their Balanced Deployment solutions. They were sold on the idea that the best way to communicate how the solution works was through an info-graphic piece that takes you through “your” office, big or small. Instead of inundating the audience with statistics and technical terms, we pared down the script and kept it simple. Stylishly simple. Referencing the same understated style that Google has made so fashionable, we preferred to let the animation sell the solution while the narrator told the story. Conversational and friendly, combined with a bold color palette, this proved to be the perfect mix to turn a typically dry topic into something fun and engaging.

Behold, the ancient mysteries of saving. Beyond the mountains and through the misty bamboo, In a land far away, you will find a dragon doing just that. Only the wise can find him OR, perhaps people banking with OCBC. Conceptualized for OCBC’s Year of the Dragon campaign, we designed a world where our dragon can train and wish you growing prosperity. This Dragon year, OCBC is offering a special promotional gift set to those who start up a new account. In the past, it has been high prized television spots that would showcase these promotional offers, this year OCBC decided to make it viral. Inspired by Kung Fu Panda, combined with the symbolism of the Fortune Cat; OCBC and the Fortune Dragon are here to wish you good luck and wealth in the Chinese New Year.

What are days like in the park with your family? Is your son catching frogs, your daughter blowing bubbles and your husband trying to capture every second on camera? See how one mom writes down these priceless memories. Unforgettable is the feeling that we are trying to get across for this ad for a luxury condo to be built in Bedok Reservoir. In a slightly different take on what an ad trying to sell property should be, we decided to focus on the serenity of nature that will surround your life. Never mind, the “murky” reputation that Bedok Reservoir has in its past. Your home will be a place where the subtleties of nature and the endless time with your family is all you have to worry about.

Looks like it’s spaghetti for Mr. Takenaka. This a commercial that we line produced for Japanese mega bank, Mobit. Follow our Japanese travelers in Europe as they end up with a group of friends at restaurant. It’s no small shoot when you are filming a Japanese superstar with full time stand-ins hired. It was 2 very very long days of shoot. A pleasure and a true collaboration between the two production companies involved. Look out, this is only part 1 of 2.

Kampuchea Bound. On 2nd February we departed Changi airport and arrived in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. We were there on a short 4 day trip to give our time and assistance to the deeply undervalued children of the Baray District. The Khmer Rouge’s genocide on the Cambodian people in the 70s left over 2 million people dead putting the country itself in catastrophe. Cambodia as a whole was in a state of helplessness after they were freed from the Rouge’s governance. Thus, now the majority of the population is under 25 years old and most are extremely poor. This is a nation that is truly building itself from the ground up.

Reel Loco Productions, as a team decided to see for ourselves the current condition and to help, if we could. The Baray District is home to a wonderful little Homestay which became our base. Esther, the owner of Khmer Homestay, coordinated our activities to help out with a school and an orphanage in the region and saw to it that we worked with the children most in need. In our short time there we were able to interact with over 200 kids during our stay. While there we conducted a “mobile library” session for the village children, sang songs and played sports at a government school and built a reading corner/av room at an orphanage. You can see the delight in these kids eyes when you interact with them. We know we will not be able to change their lives forever but, we hope to spark a bit of inspiration that they will carry with them. It was a trip that was just as much adventurous as meaningful.

Do let us know if you would like any contacts if you or your company is interested in doing a similar trip.

Akun (Thank You).

We know we will not be able to change their lives forever but, we hope to spark a bit of inspiration that they will carry with them. It was a trip that was just as much adventurous as meaningful.

We decided to make a video that gives us an empathetic view of one school in Baray. Through the eyes of one teacher, Marin, we see what they have and learn of what they do not. This video will show you how the kids will walk kilometers every morning to school and how they are still sitting in dirt during their lesson. Despite the differences, you can see the smiles in the children’s faces. A mark of being content with their current situation. We hope to change that with this video. This video will be used to raise awareness of a situation that we almost never hear about. Hopefully, it will inspire a change.

Please check out this video we were able to construct while up there. And let us know if you would like any contacts if you or your company is interested in doing a similar trip.
